His name is John Joyce. The 83-year-old man from St. Petersburg, Fla., mows lawns to earn some extra cash after retirement. Only his 1995 Ford F150 pickup broke around a month ago, and without the money to repair it, Joyce has been pushing his lawnmower over 2.5 miles to work ever since.

Koko the Gorilla ‘Adopts’ Two Kittens to Raise as Her Own

A gorilla famed for its ability to converse in sign language is now a mother after “adopting” two adorable kittens. Koko the gorilla recently turned 44 years old, and to celebrate, the staff at the Gorilla Foundation in Redwood City, California, surprised the gorilla with a box containing a litter of kittens to play with. The gorilla used sign language to communicate to her trainer that the kittens are her babies, and the staff let Koko keep Ms. Gray, as well as another kitten named “Ms. Black” to raise as her own.
